Mitchell Brown

Financial Planner

I have worked in the financial planning industry since the age of 19, building my career around helping individuals and families make informed financial decisions and achieve their long-term goals. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong appreciation for the importance of trust, clear communication, and providing advice that is tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

Having spent my entire life in Newcastle, I am proud to be part of the local community and value the relationships I have built both personally and professionally. Being deeply connected to the region has given me a genuine understanding of the people and families who call it home. Outside of work, I am a devoted husband and the proud father of two children. Family plays a central role in my life and reinforces my belief in the importance of planning for the future and creating financial security for the people who matter most.

I have also enjoyed participating in a wide range of sports throughout my life. Sport has taught me the value of teamwork, discipline, resilience, and commitment—qualities that continue to shape my approach both professionally and personally.

What do you enjoy about financial planning?

What I enjoy most about financial planning is the opportunity to help people. Every client has their own goals, challenges, and aspirations, and I find it incredibly rewarding to work alongside them to create strategies that provide clarity, confidence, and financial security. Financial planning is about much more than investments or superannuation—it’s about helping people make informed decisions so they can focus on what matters most to them. Whether it’s preparing for retirement, protecting their family, building wealth, or navigating life’s unexpected changes, I take great satisfaction in guiding clients through important financial decisions and seeing them achieve their goals over time. Building long-term relationships with clients and being someone they can rely on is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my role. Knowing that the advice I provide can have a meaningful and lasting impact on their lives is what continues to motivate me every day.

What is the best piece of financial advice you have been given?

The best piece of financial advice I can give is simple: just start. One of the biggest challenges people face when it comes to their finances is feeling overwhelmed by where to begin. They often wait for the perfect time, the perfect opportunity, or until they have more money available. However, the most important step is taking action and starting the journey. Whether it is building a budget, setting aside savings, investing for the future, reviewing your insurance, or putting a plan in place for retirement, small decisions made consistently over time can have a significant impact. The earlier you start, the more opportunities you create for your money to grow and for you to build confidence in your financial future. Financial planning is not about having everything figured out from day one; it is about making informed decisions, taking the first step, and continuing to improve along the way.

What are your hobbies or interests?

Outside of financial planning, my biggest priority is spending quality time with my family. Being a husband and father to two children has given me a strong appreciation for the importance of creating meaningful experiences, being present for the moments that matter, and building a secure future for the people closest to me. Sport has always been a major part of my life. Growing up in Newcastle, I have enjoyed being involved in a range of different sports over the years, which has allowed me to develop lifelong friendships and a strong connection with the local community. I have always enjoyed the challenge, teamwork, and commitment that comes with sport, and these values continue to influence how I approach both my personal and professional life. I also enjoy staying connected with the Newcastle community and the people around me. Having lived in Newcastle my entire life, I value the relationships I have built over many years and the opportunity to support and connect with the local families and individuals who make the region such a great place to live.

What are your goals for the future?

My goal is simple—to help as many people as possible make informed and confident financial decisions. I believe everyone deserves access to quality financial advice that empowers them to achieve their personal and financial goals. I am passionate about educating clients, simplifying complex financial concepts, and providing tailored advice that enables them to make the best decisions for their unique circumstances. Whether it’s planning for retirement, growing wealth, protecting their family, or navigating life’s financial milestones, I want to ensure every client feels supported and confident in the choices they make. As I continue to grow my career, my aim is to positively impact as many individuals and families as possible by building lasting relationships founded on trust, integrity, and genuine care. Seeing clients achieve their goals and enjoy greater financial confidence is what motivates me every day.
